Volunteer: TAPS is the national nonprofit organization providing compassionate care and comprehensive resources for all those grieving the death of a military or veteran loved one. If you are here because our mission to care for the families of America’s fallen heroes speaks to you as well, we welcome you to connect with us about giving,  volunteering,  professional engagement  or careers. Volunteerism is at the very foundation of TAPS. In 2023, nearly 5,000 volunteers donated their time and talent to support the TAPS mission, providing more than 71,000 hours of support. In addition to their generosity, more than 1,100 Military Mentors volunteered 60,000 hours supporting survivors.

Participate: Irreverent Warriors knows that the best support network for veterans, is other veterans. We bring a community of warriors together through therapeutic events across the country. We also work with other veteran organizations who provide services such as job placement, training, housing, service dogs and more.

Volunteer: Honor Flight Network is a national nonprofit organization comprised of independent hubs working together to achieve the Honor Flight mission. Participation in an Honor Flight trip gives veterans the opportunity to share this momentous occasion with other comrades, remember the fallen, and share their stories and experiences with other veterans. Honored veterans always travel free of charge, thanks to generous donations to our organization. Veterans can sign up for an Honor Flight trip. Observe: Each January across the nation, we pause to reflect on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a great humanitarian and visionary leader whose courage was instrumental in bringing freedom and liberty to all Americans. Dr. King understood, as every Veteran understands, that freedom is never free. Generations of Service members have stood against injustice, tyranny and oppression and have broken the bonds of slavery around the world. Even though Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., never served in the American armed forces, the Department of Defense joins the nation in honoring the life and legacy of King by making the holiday a day of community service – “A Day On, Not A Day Off.”

Sponsor/ Donate/ Ride: The Honor Ride is a non-competitive cycling event where active service members, injured veterans, first responders and the general public all get to ride together. From building and donating adaptive bikes and producing cycling events throughout the nation to supporting community-based rehabilitation and recovery programs and important medical and clinical research, Project Hero is raising awareness of the national PTS mental health crisis and making a difference in the lives of thousands of Veterans and First Responders, as well as their families and communities. All proceeds to benefit Tunnel to Towers Foundation. On Sept. 11, 2001, FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller strapped his gear to his back and raced on foot through the Hugh L. Observe: April is the Month of the Military Child (MOMC). The life of a military kid is a blend of unique adventures and challenges. It’s important to keep in mind that they serve our country too, as part of a military family… not just in April, but all year long. Celebrate the challenges and triumphs of our military-connected children. These amazing kids selflessly sacrifice for our country and are brave, proud, and strong.

Volunteer/ Sponsor/ Donate/ Ride: Bike MS is the largest fundraising cycling series in the world. Ride together to change the world for people with MS. With the fundraising support of each cyclist, the National MS Society can continue their work of tackling the complex challenges of MS where approximately 70,000 veterans are living with the disease today. Volunteer/ Sponsor/ Attend: WWAR is hosting the 2024 United States Wheelchair Rugby Association (USWRA) Championship. This event is aimed at promoting and supporting wheelchair rugby to provide competitive athletic opportunities to eligible people with disabilities and also to empower people to reach their full potential in all areas of life. Sponsor/ Volunteer/ Participate: Dive care is a non-profit with a purpose is to offer and support educational SCUBA diving and snorkeling programs. These programs are available to any child, adult or veteran with a disability with the intention of providing both physical and psychological therapeutic value to each person.

Sponsor/ Donate/ Participate: Each mile of Believe With Me’s Freedom 4 Miler is named after a fallen hero and along the way there are signs, food, and more to let racers get to know more about the soldier we are honoring for that mile! The race raises funds for the Believe With Me Gold Star Christmas project which provides Christmas gifts to children of fallen soldiers. For our “Christmas in July” please consider bringing a new, unwrapped toy to the race.

Observe: Independence Day, known colloquially as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday commemorating the Declaration of Independence, which was ratified by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, establishing the United States of America.

Observe: Each year, brave men and women from the military service return to civilian life. This day was created to remind job seekers and employers alike that these veterans’ experience and dedication can breathe new life into the workforce. Volunteer: 9/11 Day is a nonprofit organization that created and annually organizes the federally recognized September 11 National Day of Service & Remembrance. Their mission is to inspire millions of Americans and others to rekindle the remarkable spirit of unity and compassion that arose in the immediate aftermath of 9/11. TAMPA BAY MEAL PACK is where 1,200+ volunteers will come together at the Yuengling Center at the University of South Florida to pack 400,000 meals for people experiencing food insecurity in the local community. These meals will be donated to Feeding Tampa Bay. The Commitment is a one-hour training session via Zoom, scheduled a week before the event. Sponsor/ Donate/ Participate: The 9.11 Promise is a journey of remembrance and honor while also providing an opportunity to help the children of those who have sacrificed for our communities and country. This year the journey consists of solely virtual events where individual participants and teams commit to raising funds for scholarships by completing 9.11 miles between 9 and 11 September by walking, running, or biking in the location of their choice.

This event will benefit the Camaraderie Foundation and our mission to provide healing for the “invisible wounds of war” through counseling, emotional, and spiritual support for all military service members, veterans, and their families. Our special guest speaker that evening will be Lieutenant Commander Jonny Kim – Navy SEAL, NASA astronaut, and Harvard Medical graduate physician. Volunteers will help with Registration, Record Keeping, Refreshment Station, and Cleaning Fish. Overnight stays at local Air BnBs and Faro Blanco will be available upon request.

Donate a Toy: Join Valor NY as we collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute them to children during the holidays. The toys collection starts 10/25, but pick up of the toys by the Marines is done a couple weeks before Christmas. Support the year-round work of Marine Toys for Tots and make a lasting impact in the lives of disadvantaged children. Volunteer/Play/ Sponsor: Quantum Leap Farm exists to improve quality of life and inspire personal growth through equine-assisted therapies. We believe in the acceptance of everyone, wherever they are right now. The Quantum Leap Farm HorsePlay Golf Tournament on the famous Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club, home of the PGA TOUR’s Valspar Championship, raises funds to fulfill our mission.

Attend/ Sponsor: “Last Out: Elegy of a Green Beret” new tour for 2025 – Artistic Performance. Last Out was pulled from the experiences of the longest war in American history, a war mostly fought in the shadows. This is a one-act play, with a small cast of combat veterans and military-family members playing multiple roles. Scott Mann and Producer Jason Cannon have re-written Last Out and simplified it to make it more affordable to travel the country. The show is now approximately 70 minutes and will feature a new cast. The Heroes Journey is in the beginning stages in touring process. We have a soft show for a group of Special Forces Cruisers October 18th and in Danville, KY November 8th.

Volunteer/Participate: Join us in honoring our country and supporting our heroes through our inaugural Veterans Day Honor Walk . We will begin our 3.3 mile walk at O2 Fitness on Independence Blvd, and end at Anne Bonny’s Bar and Grill in downtown Wilmington with a post-walk celebration to include paws4people dog meet and greets and prizes. Proceeds from the event will support paws4vets, a program of paws4people®, that has been providing some of the world’s most highly trained Service Dogs to our Wounded Veterans since 2008. Along with their Service Dog, they also receive proprietary Intervention Transfer Training®, Peer-to-Peer support and the backing of the entire paws4vets organization for life.

Sponsor/Donate/Attend: Among Alex’s last wishes is that his family and friends honor his memory by lending their support to the Green Beret and Special Operations Warrior Foundations. Alex and his father, Frank, shared a love of hot rods and car shows, so the Viola family could think of no better way to honor Alex’s wishes than to host a car show in his name that would raise money for those organizations. The first SSG Alex Viola Memorial Car Show was held on Veteran’s Day of 2015 and the show has since become an annual Veteran’s Day tradition, attended by thousands and featuring cars from all over the U.S. To date, the SSG Alex Viola Foundation has raised nearly $400,000 (and soon to be $450,000) for the Green Beret Foundation and the Special Operations Warriors Foundation.

Observe: Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States observed annually on November 11, for honoring military veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

Attend/Participate: The National MS Society is one of Valor’s non-profit partners, therefore,  we are excited to collaborate on an event to spread awareness. The goal would be in year one to educate and in year two look at doing a fundraiser to show firm support for the cause. Knowing the facts and the statistics about MS, Raymond James Financial is hosting a lunch & learn panel to highlight the impact of MS on not only the individual, but their families as well. We have a significant number of associates and advisors at the firm who are directly or indirectly impacted by MS. The MS diagnosis rate amongst Veterans has nearly doubled in the past two decades, with 70,000 veterans living with MS in the United States today. Where veterans can find life after service has a number of hurdles, life can feel overwhelming and isolating managing MS. Join us to learn more (Zoom link will be posted soon)

Attend & Support: Veterans Day celebration at The ANNIKA. Active or retired military personnel (+a guest) will have complimentary access to the Hero Outpost (Hole 12). This LPGA event – The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican – is being hosted at Pelican Golf Club. In short time, the tournament has become one of the most prestigious stops on the LPGA schedule, and this week, the event will reach heights not previously reached. 

Attend/Donate: A fundraising dinner in Ft. Walton Beach to honor fallen SOF Personnel and their families. This evening will highlight AFSOC missions during Operation Desert Storm. Keynote Speaker will be Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Thomas Trash.

Donate/Sponsor/Play: In 2016 Ken’s vision of founding a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization to support well deserving local and national organizations came to life! After a meeting of friends and family the Inaugural Ken Duke & Friends Celebrity Pro-Am was born! Volunteer/Attend: QLF is hosting a holiday meal service and hygiene kit distribution for homeless veterans to celebrate their veterans’ accomplishments and success in the Mental Health Intensive Case Management (MHICM) MHICM program this year! Quantum Leap Farm is hosting an annual “Holiday Bash” for approximately 100 men and women in the James Haley VA Hospital’s MHICM Program. QLF has been hosting this event since 2008 for individuals with severe and persistent mental health conditions resulting from service related trauma. Most of these veterans are Vietnam era, and are experiencing financial hardship. Quantum Leap also serves them a nice (donated) meal too, and they all have such a great time! It’s a lot of fun – the VA staff gives them awards for things like smoking cessation, reduction in calls to the emergency help lines, managing an apartment independently, etc.
