Observe: National Domestic Violence Awareness Month unite survivors, connect organizations, and raise awareness about the serious issue of domestic violence and abuse. The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) and other groups organize events, educational campaigns, and community gatherings during October to highlight different forms of abuse and promote prevention. 

Observe: Fire Prevention Month is October 2026, with Fire Prevention Week (the main observance) set for October 4-10, 2026, sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). This annual event educates the public on fire safety, stemming from the Great Chicago Fire and highlighting key tips like checking smoke alarms, kitchen safety, and practicing escape plans, with specific campaigns focusing on issues like lithium-ion battery safety. 

Get Involved: Wine Women & Shoes is a fun new event paws4people introduced last fall.  WWS includes a sip, stop and shop marketplace filled with wine tastings from vintners around the country, unique shopping selections, and one-of-a-kind experiences, dinner, a live auction, and a high-end fashion show! This event will raise funds for the paws4people foundation. Paws4people’s mission is to educate and empower people to utilize Assistance Dogs to transform their lives. They place Assistance Dogs, at no cost to our clients, to turn their disability into an ability.

Get Involved: The “Join Forces: Texas Style” event is a major fundraising dinner organized by the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF), held at the Omni Hotel in Dallas. This year’s event will take place on October 3rd, 2026, featuring guest speakers such as retired Navy Seal Jonny Kim and Emmy Award-winning correspondent Catherine Herridge. The event aims to support the foundation’s mission of providing educational opportunities for the children of Special Operations Forces lost in the line of duty. Get Involved: Join Task Force Dagger Special Operations Foundation for a three-day META Transition Seminar designed to help Special Operations service members successfully navigate the transition from military service to civilian life. Through expert instruction, practical resources, and peer connection, participants will develop a personalized plan focused on career readiness, financial planning, purpose, leadership, and long-term wellness. This seminar equips attendees with the tools and confidence to execute their next mission with clarity and resilience.

Get Involved: Next 18 provides immersive four-day wellness camps that use the game of golf as a catalyst to deliver holistic mental health education and support for veterans and first responders. These camps combine group facilitation with activities like yoga, breathwork, journaling, and meditation, offering a unique blend of therapeutic resources within a traditional golf camp experience. By fostering constructive conversations and equipping participants with practical tools for healing, the program empowers veterans and first responders to lead healthier, happier lives.

Get Involved: The Marine Raider Foundation is now a charity partner of the Spartan/ Tough Mudder Race Series through September 2027. As part of that, we have 25 free spots with parking and are looking for teams to sign up for any of the races Nationwide. We are asking that anyone who races, includes a fundraising page as part of the charity partnership but there is not a specific amount.

Get Involved: Quantum Leap Farm‘s 26th Annual Horse Play Charity Golf Invitational Tournament! Event helps underwrite equine-assisted therapy services for our participants: veterans, pediatric cancer patients, children and adults with special needs, and their families. Live & silent auctions, luncheon and impactful testimonials from our participants.

Observe: The U.S. Navy’s official birthday is October 13, marking the date in 1775 when the Continental Congress established the Continental Navy to intercept British supply ships during the American Revolution.

Get Involved: Themed each year as a brunch event, 40 expecting or recently delivered military moms are invited to receive bundles of items to help them care for their newborn. The annual Vincent Jackson Family Foundation shower provides these military families with an experience they might not receive otherwise, as many are stationed far away from family and friends who would traditionally host a baby shower for them. At the event, military moms are able to meet one another and establish connections that provide support to them and their families moving forward. Expecting military members who are active duty and reserve are invited to apply for the shower, then the foundation selects the 40 applicants who are invited to attend.

Get Involved: The Patriot Fund’s mission is to provide funding for the critical services Veterans deserve to ensure their lifelong needs are sustained. We fully vet and only support Best In Class partners who impact the lives of Veterans – TODAY. We recognize that the transition from military service to civilian life presents significant challenges for America’s Veterans. We focus our funding efforts on five critical areas to ensure Veterans receive comprehensive, life-changing support: Mental Health and Wellness; 2) Disability Support and Adaptive Services; 3) Comprehensive Support for Basic Needs; 4) Reintegration & Civilian Transition; and 5) Military-Connected Families, Children & Youth.

Get Involved: Cocktails & Costumes is Task Force Dagger Special Operations Foundation‘s signature Halloween-themed fundraising gala, bringing the community together for an evening of entertainment with a purpose. Guests will enjoy dinner, drinks, dancing, raffles, a silent auction, and a costume contest while helping raise critical funds for wounded, ill, and injured U.S. Special Operations service members, veterans, and their families. Every dollar raised directly supports TFDSOF’s mission of providing Immediate Needs assistance, Rehabilitative Adaptive Events, and innovative Health Initiatives that promote long-term healing and resilience. Whether attending in costume, sponsoring the event, or making a donation, participants play a vital role in ensuring Special Operations families receive the support they need when facing life’s unexpected challenges.

Get Involved: Join us on the Innisbrook Golf Resort Copperhead Course as we bring associates, advisors, and community partners together to support veterans/ first responders and their families who have already given so much. Annually the Raymond James National Veterans Inclusion Network (Valor), hosts a golf fundraiser in support of local veterans and their families. Proceeds of this annual tournament benefits veterans nonprofits focused on mental health, rehabilitation, enhanced mobility, affordable housing and home maintenance, and career transition for veterans and their families.

Observe: October 26 is recognized as the National Day of the Deployed, a day dedicated to honoring those deployed in service to the U.S. military. This observance honors all service members who have been deployed in service of our country. The day also acknowledges the sacrifices that military families make during deployment.

Observe: October 28 is a day of honor for the firefighters, police, paramedics and others who take action when danger and disaster strike. While many of these brands offer hero discounts year-round, this time of year provides a special opportunity for brands to show their appreciation with even bigger deals.
